Our bespoke electric heating systems for cold store and freezer doors are engineered to prevent condensation and ice formation, ensuring reliable door operation in demanding environments.
Available in two tailored options — ThermaTape™ a durable stainless steel tape or a flexible silicone-sheathed wire — our systems deliver ultra-low voltage heating for enhanced safety and efficiency. Each system is custom-designed to fit your specific door dimensions, shipped with a robust transformer housed in a painted steel enclosure for straightforward installation.

ThermaTape™ door heating
ThermaTape™ is a high-performance heating solution specifically engineered for freezer and cold store doors. This innovative system utilizes a 12.7mm wide ultra-thin stainless steel strip, encapsulated between high-quality Mylar insulation, and finished with adhesive tape on both sides for effortless installation. Designed to conform to any doorframe configuration, ThermaTape™ can be bent at right angles, ensuring adaptability for doors of all sizes.
The stainless steel tape is stripped back on site and connected to two brass clamps within a Tape Connector Box. From there, installers wire the system using suitable tri-rated cable to a custom-made Transformer housed in a Thermatek fused and switched painted steel enclosure.
Each transformer is meticulously wound in-house, ensuring a precise match to the bespoke system design and enabling faster lead times and more importantly lower operating costs.
With transformers specified according to the door size, ThermaTape™ ensures the most economical and energy-efficient operation, making it a reliable choice for engineers, specifiers, and installers alike.

Silicon Coated wire door heating
The Thermatek® silicone-coated heating wire is a versatile and durable solution for freezer and cold store doors, providing reliable prevention of ice and condensation. With a 4mm diameter, the heating wire is precision-cut to match the exact dimensions of the customer’s doorframe, ensuring an efficient and tailored fit for any application.
To simplify installation, Thermatek® adds custom-length cold tails, designed to meet the specific needs of each project. These cold tails are easily wired on-site to a Thermatek™ transformer housing, completing a robust and energy-efficient heating system.
Ideal for doors with complex configurations or unique size requirements, the silicone-coated heating wire delivers dependable performance, maintaining door functionality and preventing costly disruptions in cold storage environments.
